This short set was the best the Low has sounded in a while.
Umm, can't remember all the songs they played but they included Eternal Fatalist, Bleed a Little While, Dark Horse, a Stephen Stanley tune that I haven't heard before, Gamble, Birthday Party...umm, I think I missed one or two but you get the idea...
The last few shows I've seen them (North Tonawanda, Horseshoe, Bala, Met Lastman, Taste of the Danforth) the acoustics of the venue seemed a bit off (surprising for Bala especially), but the acoustics seemed better at the MTCC. Not perfect, but better. Thus, they sounded great.
Lots of energy, too. The majority of the crowd didn't seem to know the Low very well (with the exception of the group of women beside me), but they were enthusiastic and vocal. But you could tell there were pockets of real Low fans spread around (and a few Low t-shirts, from what I could see. I forgot to wear one of mine...).
The woman who was next to me wanted copies of my pictures, but I forgot to get her contact info. I've posted a few on the "Lowest of the Low 101" group on Facebook, you can contact me there to get the full-sized copies...
Spirit of the West was very cool. Didn't stick around for Great Big Sea or Emerson Drive, we booked just after LOTL.... |

hey
there's a fine fellow on the ron hawkins message board that's going to be trying to clean the recording up a bit (fix speed, volume levels and balance). it will then be torrented again, if you want to wait for a slightly nicer version (although this version is a very good recording in it's own right!) |
